Custom PC Headlight Filler Mold
Moldie’s PC headlight filler mold is developed for manufacturing headlight filler parts used between the automotive lighting assembly and front body panels. The molded component helps create visual continuity around the headlight while providing the dimensional accuracy required for reliable vehicle assembly.
Polycarbonate is selected for these automotive plastic components because it provides strong impact resistance, dimensional stability and reliable performance in demanding exterior applications. The component can be manufactured with a polished surface to achieve a smooth appearance and consistent integration with nearby lamp trims, bumpers and body panels.
The mold uses P20 steel for the cavity and core, combined with an S50C mold base and DME standard components. Its single-cavity hot runner configuration supports stable material flow, consistent filling and controlled part quality during repeated production cycles. The cavity and core hardness reaches 28–32 HRC, while the expected mold life is approximately 250,000 shots under proper operation and maintenance.
Color can be matched according to RAL or PANTONE references to meet different vehicle programs, OEM requirements and aftermarket designs. Moldie can manufacture the mold and produce finished PC automotive plastic components according to customer drawings, samples and technical requirements.
