Zinc die casting alloys
Zamak 2
Also called Kirksite, Zamak 2 is unique among the Zamak alloys as it is the only one used for gravity casting. It has the highest hardness and strength, making it an excellent bearing material that can eliminate the need for wear inserts in zinc castings.
Zamak 3
Zamak 3 is the most widely used zinc die casting alloy. It offers a well-balanced combination of mechanical and physical properties, long-term dimensional stability, and exceptional casting quality.
Zamak 5
Containing more copper than Zamak 3, Zamak 5 is stronger but less ductile. It is easier to finish, plate, and machine compared to Zamak 3, and it is the most commonly used zinc die casting alloy in Europe.
ZA8
ZA8 is a zinc-aluminum alloy valued for its excellent plating and finishing characteristics, making it ideal for decorative uses. With 8.4% aluminum content, it is the only ZA alloy suitable for die casting.
